Raquel Langarita

Raquel Langarita is PhD in Economics, with cum laude and international mention, from the University of Zaragoza, where she is currently Assistant Professor. During two academic years, from September 2018 to September 2020, she was Assistant Professor at the University of La Rioja. During her predoctoral period, she did a research stay at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (REAL) at the University of Illinois. The lines of research that she develops are mainly focused on environmental issues, energy and, especially, electricity, although she also focuses on the analysis of economic, social and environmental impacts of different events, shocks or technological change. The study of electricity and its relationship with agriculture is also part of her line of research. For all of this, she mainly uses multisectoral models: supply and use tables, input-output model, multiregional models and computable general equilibrium models. Her work has been published in international JCR journals such as Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy Conversion and Management, Energy, Science of the Total Environment, Land Use Policy, Journal of Environmental Management, Applied Economics, etc.
