Satoshi Inomata gives a lecture at the Faculty of Economics and Business
On May 24th, Satoshi Inomata gave a lecture at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zaragoza. Dr. Inomata spoke about the geo-economics of global value chains. First, he focused on explaining the decentralization of production and how this has been able to generate new opportunities for developing countries and cause a de-industrialization of developed countries. On the other hand, he talks about the risk of concentration of production chains. Specifically, it presented a new measure in which, in addition to the volume of exports from a country, the frequency of trade with a specific country is taken into account.
Satoshi Inomata is the past president of the International Input-Output Association. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies, JETRO, Japan, and a Visiting Researcher at the OECD. He is a member of the editorial board of Economic System Research and has received several awards for his latest book published in 2019. His research has been published in different high-impact journals.
