Lucía Bolea, Rosa Duarte, Sofía Jiménez and Raquel Langarita attend the surprise party, of Professor Geoffrey Hewings birthday, in Oviedo, March 10^th 2023.

The University of Oviedo named Geoffrey Hewings, an expert of regional economics, an “honorary collaborator”. Forty experts from around the world attended the event, by surprise, to honor the professor form Chicago. All this took place in the Auditorium of the Historical Building.

After surprising him with the celebration of the event, a day of presentations took place recalling the experiences of researchers present at the event with Professor Hewings, highlighting stays, theses and published or ongoing work, as well as ideas for the future. The day ended with a dinner to thank their work and dedication.
