The researchers Ignacio Cazcarro, Miguel Ángel Almazán, Cristina Sarasa, and Guillermo Rodríguez López, members of CREDENAT, participate of the European project called Water4all CLIMEX-PE . The aim of the project is to incorporate groundwater flow evaluation systems and local-scale aquifer recharge techniques to mitigate extreme hydroclimatic events. Specifically, the project focus on the following topics:

  • How extreme natural behaviors affect groundwater.
  • Application of NB-MAR techniques to buffer climate events.
  • Impacts of different natural events on the quantity and quality of groundwater.
  • Studying the role of groundwater flow systems in decision-making.
  • Integration of NB-MAR into water policies and the development of a sustainable regulatory environment.

On December 14, 2024, the consortium held a workshop to present the progress achieved so far (link). Additionally, in the following video, link, the researchers explain the importance of the project in addressing current and future water challenges.
