Premio a la mejor tesis en Economía del agua
Miguel Ángel Almazán, assistant professor at the University of Zaragoza and member of CREDENAT, was awarded the prize for the best thesis in Water Economics by the Aquae Chair on 31 March. The thesis entitled “Water governance in the Ebro Basin: Construction of a multi-regional and multi-sectoral hydroeconomic model” analyses the situation and needs of the Ebro Basin in each of its sections, exploring the complexity of the hydro-economic and multisectoral relationships along the river. It also analyses the economic and environmental impact of different alternatives to improve water management in the basin. Miguel Ángel also received in January the Botín Foundation Award from the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain for the best Doctoral Thesis on water resources management.
